Video South provides unrivalled expertise in three key areas. First, a clear, in depth understanding of hospital procedures in both a clinical and organisational sense. Second, detailed knowledge and experience of the rooms used for diagnostic and surgical procedures where ease of use, safety and integration to the working environment are paramount. Third, a successful track record of designing systems for seminar rooms and large lecture theatres for both audio visual media and live interactive links within the hospital and externally.
Video South has been in the vanguard of the emerging videoconference and telemedicine technologies. The company has a strong heritage in supplying video communication links within hospital sites. Progression into the arena of digital telecommunication networks and video over IP for wide area connections has been a natural development. The blend of skills required in using television to present clinical medicine, along with the knowledge of relevant medical imaging tools, has provided a solid base for this development.
Video South has been providing audiovisual networks for use by hospital doctors for over twenty years. This began with the development of miniature camera systems for endoscopy, microsurgery, pathology and laboratory work. Having been one of the first companies to achieve satisfactory results with early camera technology, Video South was a pioneer in the development and use of cameras designed specifically for surgical and diagnostic uses. Over the last nine years the Company has been involved in all aspects of communicating and teaching clinical work and has been responsible for the design of most permanent networks installed for this purpose, in the UK.
