Lancaster links to Liverpool

Video South has installed a high specification videoconference lecture theatre for the medical school at Lancaster University. The room has large twin screen projection using the latest DLP technology and is all touch panel controlled for operation entirely by academic stall. Lancaster rotates students from Liverpool and they require to attend plenary sessions from there. This facility means that students in Lancaster can now go to the local lecture theatre and attend a full session being carried out in the Sheridan theatre at Liverpool University. The room can also be used for transmitting high quality local lectures to any location.

London Bridge goes live

An innovative system has been installed with the cardiology department at this leading London centre for ablation techniques. Video South has configured the system to transmit the real time imaging from the lab to anywhere in the world at a quality not previously seen. The lab is equipped for modern ablation techniques using very sophisticated EP equipment in conjunction with both 3-D modelling and navigation aids.

St Peter's, Chertsey

Video South has equipped the new extensive Education Centre in St Peter's. It features skills training, seminar and lecture facilities as well as videoconferencing for radiology and MDT meetings.

Southmead, Bristol

Video South has been appointed AV contractor and design specialist for all such facilities at the new Southmead Learning, Research and Pathology project. Featuring two lecture theatres with full HD multi-window projection, as well as multiple seminar rooms, videoconferencing and links to operating theatres, this will be one of the most advanced teaching centres in the West.

Taunton, Musgrove Park Hospital

This is the latest centre to be equipped with Video South's very successful MDT room videoconference package. An integrated AV, VC, IT system is built in to the room and allows cancer groups to link hospital to hospital and discuss patient records, radiology, histology and other data. The advanced console and ceiling-mount twin projection along with superior audio quality allows Taunton to conduct meetings with Yeovil, Southmead , Bath, Salisbury, Weston-super-Mare, Swindon and other locations equipped by Video South

Video South has installed many cardiology centres with high quality systems to allow participation in a cath lab procedure from a seminar room. Two exemplary installations in London have groundbreaking technology. At Great Ormond Street, Dr Philipp Bonhoeffer carries out heart valve implants in an entirely x-ray guided procedure. Video South has integrated cameras, two-way audio and outputs from all the imaging equipment to an audiovisual network.

Eagle project at RCS London

The Royal College of Surgeons of England is planning a complete redevelopment of their education facilities. Known as Eagle Project, the first phase is the completely new Hill Laboratory for anatomy and surgical skills training. The College has appointed Video South to participate in the design and installation of sophisticated audio visual and videoconference systems. These will enhance the education experience in the facility and allow the college to link to affiliate centre in the UK and abroad.

University Hospital of Coventry and Warwick

Video South has completed a large video system in the new hospital. The buildings and campus are some of the largest in UK, so fibre systems connecting up to 2km have been used to enable live procedure demonstration from three endoscopy rooms, four operating theatres and (future) cath labs to the Clinical Sciences Building in both the 300-seat lecture theatre and a seminar room. Full touch panel control allows all aspects of this system to be operated by users.

Cardiology at St Mary's

A cath lab carrying out EP procedures has been linked by fibre 1.5km across the site to the Education Centre, with high-resolution display on 16:9 HD screen. In February a group of experts from all over Europe gathered to watch live procedures and discuss latest therapies for AF ablation. One of the most successful meetings yet held in this field.

Bristol Heart Hospital

The new Cardiothoracic Specialist Hospital Unit in Bristol features an advanced hybrid cath lab / operating theatre and other advanced cath labs. Video South has worked with the design team for two years to realise advanced AV systems for live procedure demonstration. All the integration of these facilities has been planned in detail as part of the building construction and with the medical imaging companies involved. True HD systems will show full resolution cardiology techniques to audiences in the seminar room.
